About

Statement of Our Faith

Although our members represent many different Christian denominations, we are all in fundamental unity, confessing the following foundational doctrines:

We believe:

  1. The  scriptures to be the inspired and inerrant word of God;

  2. In one God, eternal and self existent, manifest to man as Father, Son and Holy Spirit;

  3. That Jesus the Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary;

  4. He died on the cross and shed His blood as a sacrifice for our sins; He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into Heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Majesty on High;

  5. In the ministry of the Holy Spirit to glorify Christ, to convict men and to empower the believer;

  6. That man was created in the image of God, but fell into sin;

  7. And that man can be justified through personal faith in the Lord Christ Jesus;

  8. That water baptism identifies the death and burial of Christ, and after we arise to walk in newness of life;

  9. That the true church is composed of such persons who, through saving faith in Christ Jesus, have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit;

  10. That Christ wants the members of His church to carry the Gospel into all the world;

  11. That the Holy Spirit is at work today within the church through His gifts, fruits and anointed ministries;

  12. In the Second Coming of Christ Jesus;

  13. In the bodily resurrection of all the dead;

  14. In the final judgment with everlasting blessedness for those who have placed their confidence in the Lord Christ Jesus;

The Evangelical Order of Certified Pastoral Counsellors holds letters Patent with the Government of Canada. This Document states the purpose of our Order in part as being:
